- i really can not be any clearer about this if i tried but tat literally explicitly makes it clear in the comic that his writing was influenced by homophobia, whether he intended to write something with harmful homophobic connotations or not is irrelevant because at the end of the day he did. and at the end of the day, he was influenced by homophobic and lesbophobic tropes, misconceptions, beliefs, and wrote narratives based on those influences. hence, francis's entire character or fuchsia and baby blue's entire characters and relationship.

Walking into this minefiled. Not that you're wrong, my view is that you're focusing only too much that aspect and ignoring the rest.

Before the great Tatquake of 2012, Sinfest was equally offensive comic, fair or foul according to one sensitivities. That was the way the comic was, irreverent and offbeat.

While it's not worth trying to dig in too deep, Tat has is reasons for his change of heart, but I do say you cannot use that period as a reference compared to what is happening right now if you separate the part you're interested in from the rest to create your own narrative of the story.

For exemple this :

but that doesn't change the fact that he still wrote a harmful narrative about a lesbian finding the right man and falling in love and finding happiness in a heterosexual relationship with a nice, friendly man instead of another sinful lesbian.

Again, not Tat and not defending him, but that's your reading of the story. Tension between a lusty girl and an impotent man is comedic material since times immemorials. That she was lesbian/demoniac or whatever is irrelevant in this light, it's another "Dumbledore is gay" non-issue.

Not that it changes any of your new ideas for plotlines, just makes them less mandatory.

I never saw Blue and Fuchsia as lesbians.

I have a younger sister who became very close friends with another girl in elementary school. This girl ended up visiting our house and spending the night so often, that she ended up spending more time at our house than she did at her own. Her and my sister were pretty much inseparable, and did absolutely everything together for years. Honestly, the rest of us just considered her as a part of the family, an "unofficial" sister of mine.

One year, my mother decided to try homeschooling because we live in an area with an absolutely abysmal school system. My sister's friend was absolutely heartbroken that they weren't going to school together anymore, and after that, they slowly drifted apart.

I saw Blue and Fuchsia in a similar relationship. All of the flirty parts of their relationship were part of the job in tempting men (I mean, girl-on-girl lesbian porn is very popular, as far as porn goes), while they did have a personal relationship much like that of my sister and her friend. I mean, Blue still goes out of her way to protect Fuchsia when she can, just like how we haven't seen my sister's friend in years, but we'd all still jump the instant she needed us for any reason at all.

Also, my other younger sister actually is lesbian. She's only flat-out told my mother, and hasn't told anybody else yet, but we all know. In fact, my mother secretly told me only to make absolutely sure that I wouldn't say anything stupid and upset her (I wouldn't anyways, I'm not that big of an asshole), since my sister doesn't realize that I already know.

Kind of hope that she'll eventually feel comfortable enough to tell me herself at some point, if only so she can know directly that I have no issues with it and that she doesn't need to feel the way that she does about it. I can't imagine how stressful it must be to think that something like that needs to be kept a secret.

... what, the making out and having sex in private, off-duty, too?
