I have a copy of Betty Boo's first album somewhere. It's actually great. It has Where Are You Baby, Doing The Doo, and all her other great songs on it.

Fuck you. She's great.

Her and Robyn should be where Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are now. They're both awesome.

Fall of an Empire

Specifically, I'm listening (repeatedly, every day) to the instrumental/choral version without the main vocals. It comes as a bonus disc with the Bandcamp purchase, but is worth the price of admission by itself. I found the final vocals to be somewhat uneven in terms of skill and sound quality, but the music and the choir sections are fantastic. It's addictive, cohesive, and epic.

The project is a symphonic metal opera, created by an international collaboration of amateur musicians and vocal artists. The concept, story, and lyrics were written up and volunteers were taken for all the parts. Everybody recorded their parts individually and submitted them to an editor for the mixing and mastering. It's been brewing for about a year and a half and ever since the super-short teaser hit Soundcloud I've been waiting impatiently.

Yep still wearing out that instrumental version of the album.

I have other music to listen to. Recently bought a couple of old school Iron Maiden albums and a Blue Oyster Cult that's been in my wishlists forever. Revisiting Paradise Lost's transformational album One Second for my work commute, remembering virtually every word despite not playing it for about five years now.

But that pony symphonic metal thing has what seems like a permanent place in my work vehicle. I'm even queuing it up in foobar2k right now.

The Tear Garden - We the People

The revolution came and they blew it.
They made a hole three centuries deep, and filled it.
They swept in all the streets, all the freaks and all the finest.
Now we're wading, we're knee-deep
and I can't tell you what the time is
because the palace clock is ten miles up
and I am too short-sighted.
But that's life...
Now there's four of us down here,
but I don't like the other three
except for you dear.
Let's have a coup dear.

This came along on my feed and it was scarily fitting. Only it isn't on YouTube so you'll just have to hum a random tune in your head to the lyrics. If that isn't symbolic I don't know what is!
