The Last Jedi is good. That is all.

That'll rile the internet up, but if you really want to piss it off say that Luke Skywalker's characterization in The Last Jedi showed more growth than the entire original trilogy.

the greatest irony of this century is that TV is better than movies.

Just got back! I don't usually do "opening weekends" because I'm allergic to crowds but I had to support the homegrown hero.

It really brought more character drama to the screen than just about any other Marvel movie except Civil War. Almost none of the actual plot or story revolves around The Black Panther, Superhero. His previous exploits are virtually immaterial. Everything is about family and legacy, whether intimately or writ large.

And we had two Reggie Montgomerys fighting to the death, so that happened.

I wanted to add this because I'm not finding out if it happened anywhere else.

In my theater's screening there was also a post-trailer, pre-movie segment by Chadwick Boseman that was an unscripted shout out to everyone in town, and a genuine expression of gratitude for the opportunity he's had to give people of color a heroic icon on the big screen that he didn't have growing up.

Let me know if that played in your theaters.

http://soapcentral.com/amc/news/2018/0214-michael_b_jordan_chadwick_boseman_black_panther.php

Quote:
In his first credited professional role, Boseman originated the role of Reggie, a tough kid from the apparently mean streets of Pine Valley. Reggie was being treated at the Front Street Clinic for a stab wound. When the police were called in, Reggie held Anna Devane (portrayed by Finola Hughes) at scissor-point.

Flash forward a week or so, and Reggie was, as soaps often say when a role is recast, "taken in a new direction." Jordan took over the role, and over the next three years, Reggie was shown as much more vulnerable. He even ended up becoming part of Erica Kane's (portrayed by soap icon Susan Lucci) family when Reggie's adoptive father, Jackson Montgomery (portrayed by Walt Willey), married Erica.

I wonder how many "Ready Player One" seances it'll take to get all those easter eggs/references.

Never read the book(s), so don't have your luggage. Think of the movie as a "1941" for geeks.

When you see someone do this for real instead of ironically, you can link them to this helpful guide:
