Planet Warren
Atmosphere: Marginal Features:
Airtight caves
Plant life
Dangerous animals
Gravity: Very low
Temperature: Very cold
Water: None
Resources: None

Warren's impossibly slender alien plants reach kilometres into a pale blue sky. The colonists live in towering stone-walled cities inside airtight caves, gathered around water production plants. The cities are dominated by the palaces of the emperors, who live in luxury while the population toils to support them. In the first city stand monuments to the 647 colonists who died building the first settlement and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.

All the colonists are dead. With no way to fulfil its mission, the seedship AI deactivates all systems that could wake it, and enters hibernation for the last time.

The ship drifts for tens of thousands of years, until it is pulled in by the gravity of a star and incinerated.

I'm now trying to settle on the worst planet possible ("feature: outstanding ugliness") but those rats still survive. And not with a low score, either. Again!

Planet Paradise
Atmosphere: Breathable Features:
Edible plants
Regular geological formations
Gravity: Moderate
Temperature: Moderate
Water: Oceans
Resources: Rich

Paradise's alien forests stretch away beneath a blue sky. The colonists live in cities of steel and glass beneath the planet's open sky, beside rivers that flow into the planet's oceans. Poverty, exploitation and crime are rife, and the corrupt elected government does little to alleviate them. In the first city stand monuments to the 14 colonists who did not survive the journey and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.

This was a perfect planet! Morons. I bet they would have voted Trump. (Score 9562)

Atlantis's ocean tosses with slow, tall waves, beneath a pale blue sky. They live lives of peace and spiritual fulfilment beyond the dreams of their ancestors on Earth, guided by a combination of human and alien philosophy. Many of the planet's native inhabitants live in the human communities, and the colonists' culture has been enriched by alien influences. oh no, i don't think i did well at all

Arcadia's ocean stretches to the horizon a pale blue sky. The colonists live in smog-filled Industrial cities with buildings sealed against the planet's harsh environment, on platforms floating on the planet-wide ocean. The cities are dominated by temples to the state religion which controls every aspect of people's lives. The colonists' culture mostly ignores the native inhabitants, who live in their own communities in other parts of the planet. In the first city stand monuments to the 94 colonists who did not survive the journey, the 45 more who died building the first settlement, and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.

state religion that controls every aspect of people's lives and bigots. ugh. 7657

Not so bad for the third try:

Planet Bounty
Atmosphere: Marginal Features:
Metal-rich moon
Edible plants
Useful animals
Atomic Age civilisation
Monumental ruins
Gravity: High
Temperature: Cold
Water: Trace
Resources: Rich

Bounty's squat, thick-limbed alien plants stretch away beneath a pale blue sky. The colonists live in squat high-tech cities with buildings sealed against the planet's harsh environment, gathered around water production plants. They live lives of peace and spiritual fulfilment beyond the dreams of their ancestors on Earth, guided by a combination of human and alien philosophy. Traders and diplomats from the planet's native nations are occasionally seen in the colonists' communities. In the first city stand monuments to the 50 colonists who did not survive the journey and the seedship AI that guided humanity to its new home.
